Rambert School of Ballet & Contemporary Dance

Training at the world-renowned Rambert School is a truly transformational experience for every student. And yet, the School’s brand was doing nothing to communicate this. We took the School through a transformational experience of its own when we strategically repositioned and rebranded it earlier this year.

We spoke to past and present students and the new principal and ran an analysis of the School’s competitors to give us a full picture and true understanding of the School – and what exactly makes it so special.

And that is, that Rambert School believes that dance is more than a performance. Dance is a vessel through which ideas, emotions and human stories can be expressed. That’s why Rambert opens up the world to its students – exposing them to different perspectives and experiences throughout their technical training, encouraging them to break apart the skills they have been taught and infuse them with their own distinctive creativity, to develop a style that is truly their own.

At the very heart of the brand positioning we developed is that training at Rambert School is a transformational journey for every student – wherever their start point is. We summarised this transformational experience with the brand story ‘Inspirational learning. Inspired dancers.’

A striking visual identity was developed to bring the positioning to life. Modern, bright and clean but still respectful of the School’s heritage, the new identity clearly differentiates the School from its competitors in the way it reaches and resonates with it’s diverse and international audience.

Saturated photographs allude to the immersive experience and the slash icon shows the vibrant, multi-faceted nature of the School: process /outcome, ballet/contemporary, heritage/innovation.

We continue to work with Rambert School on their digital strategy, having designed and launched the new website in June 2016.
