The Foundling Museum explores the history of the Foundling Hospital, the UK’s first children’s charity and first public art gallery. We were commissioned to produce an engaging, image-led website showcasing everything the museum has to offer: a rich history displayed through museum artefacts and art collections, a calendar full of events, and exceptional venue hire opportunities.
We rationalised the structure of the website to make user journeys easy and delivered functionality to access information quickly. Key areas of development were the ‘What’s On’ section of the site detailing current and upcoming exhibitions, talks and events. We created a landing page which lists the categories for the museums scheduled events, and employs a calendar widget visitors can use to select the date that they might visit the museum to quickly see what events are occurring on any particular day.
To increase awareness and bookings for the museum, a well-presented and professional venue hire section was a priority for the client. Built on the WordPress CMS platform the website also needed to be easy to manage and update for internal staff. We continue to work with the client on SEO and further development.
