Disasters Emergency Committee

Since 1963, the DEC have been coordinating collective appeals on behalf of the UK’s leading aid charities – funding rapid relief for humanitarian crises around the world. We were commissioned to overhaul their corporate partnership materials – helping them to strengthen their existing relationships and to forge new ones.

To galvanise support from a wide-range of partners, who already help DEC raise millions of pounds each year, a partner framework was developed by the Philanthropy & Partnerships team. Clear communication of this innovative new approach was vital in launching the new offering and encouraging members old & new to find their unique role within the ‘Rapid Response Network’.

A key challenge of the project was to create a suite of icons to represent each part of the framework and help to communicate the opportunities for any given partner.

RNN Framework

The central network logo had a wider role to play – it needed to communicate the nature of the network (and it’s strong link with the DEC) but also to be prestigious enough to appear comfortably on partners own materials as a true ‘badge of honour’.

Keeping with the DEC’s distinctive colour palette of red & black, we rolled-out the new logo, icons and graphic approach across a range of presentation materials.

These materials give the Philanthropy team the flexibility they need to tailor their materials to each partner and showcase the relevant information through engaging infographics and bespoke visuals
